It’s a bit annoying when you’re in a restaurant and someone from the next table all of a sudden hollers out in laughter; or worse; talks animatedly at the top of their lungs as if the one they’re talking to is on top of a mountain! You turn around only to find the person deep in conversation with someone on his cellular phone.
Just a couple of decades ago, people were using bulky behemoths that barely deserved to be called portable phones. Those phones were far too inconvenient to really use on a regular basis. These days, however, mobile phones have become so tiny and so slick, that it sometimes becomes hard to use them. It’s almost ironic.
Try to reminisce about the time when cell phones were not yet a fixture in our lives. Back then, people were satisfied to just swap letters. If you had something to say to those located in a distant place, you had to wait for a few days before they would know what it was.
